"Meri was engaged to fill an urgent need for an experienced professional consultant to deliver on a Zone Implementation Plan (ZIP) for the Upper Waitaki region as part of the Canterbury Water Management Strategy (CWMS). The CWMS is a major strategy to develop plans for managing water across Canterbury and to find agreement amongst a wide range of community interests including local Runanga and often diametrically opposed, entrenched views.

The role required a person with high levels of maturity, leadership, judgment and personality as well as finding practical and pragmatic solutions to a wide ranging agreed list of targeted goals. Meri filled this role admirably and in fact achieved the fastest delivery of a ZIP across the whole program. She built relationships very quickly with the whole community including identifying the key people able to help move things forward."

"Meri Gibson is the Chair of the Communicare CMA Auckland Inc. Board. 

Communicare is a not-for-profit organization and we run 21 activity centres for seniors throughout the Auckland Region. I have had the pleasure in my role as General Manager to work closely with Meri over the past 3 years.

"Grow Rotorua was the economic development agency as part of the council. One of the major sectors and core strategies for growth was international education. Rotorua had a base of three key organisations and several schools at various levels of development of their international student business and the opportunities and benefits of growth were recognised as schools and Polytechs required much needed extra income.

Meri took on the role of establishing and managing the group – Education Rotorua International – as well as specific projects as marketing director. The programmes were largely funded by Education NZ in recognition of the solid structure, leadership, and strategies that Meri put in place.

Meri melded the disparate group into one that brought together first-class marketing collateral, went on joint trade missions and opened up a wider agent network. This agent network was developed in deliberately targeted countries including Southeast Asia and South America to align with both wider NZ strategy and particular interests of the various group members. 

Meri helped the group collectively achieve over 100% growth from $40m to $90m in annual revenues from international students."
